SUMMER ROAD TRIP 2011

On Monday, June 27, 2011, we headed out on our road trip to Springville/Mapleton, Utah. Nate and I planned on it taking longer than the normal 8 hour trip (having a three month old), but we didn't know what to expect other than that. We headed out around 6am. The boys did awesome! We made it to Grand Junction around 10:15am (this is about normal time without any babies). We then stopped, got gas, ate lunch, and played around at a park. We got back on the road around 12pm. We were doing great! That is, until Price. By that time, it was after 3pm. Matthew had had enough. Obviously, road trips are not for the enjoyment of 3 month olds! We finally made it to Mapleton, Utah shortly before 5pm. Deep sigh, we made it! Little did we look forward to the trip going home:)

On the way, we stopped at a rest stop that had a train! Carson thought it was so awesome!
At Grandma and Grandpa Christian's house, Carson loved riding the 4 wheeler with Dad (Nate) and Carson's cousin McKenna.
When we go to Utah, we usually split the time between our parents. It's a blessing and a curse to have both our parents nearby! It's great because when we go on a trip to Utah, we get to see both of our families, yet then we have to split time with them. We are so grateful though to have two amazing families!!!

Carson ran through the sprinklers with Auntie Hayley. They had fun even though Carson only lasted a few minutes.

We had such a wonderful time spending the day with
Nate and Sachi and celebrating their  wedding day.

IT'S FAMILY PICTURE TIME!!!

Aren't we such a beautiful couple??
I love my parent's backyard! I feel like I've stepped into the forest. We had Mckenzie, Hayley, and Caleb help us take these pictures. Some of them didn't turn out, but, hey, isn't that how family pictures go?

4TH OF JULY FUN!!!
On the 4th of July, we went to the Freedom Festival Parade in Provo, UT with both of our families! This was both Carson's and Matthew's first parade.

Can't you see their excitement??

Here, Uncle Caleb looks more excited. Aunt Hayley
and Uncle Josh are in the background.

Aunt Mckenzie was dressed in her
red, white, and blue!

For part of the parade, Carson wanted dad (Nate) and Grandpa Christian to read him "Thomas the Train" books.

The firetrucks were the best part of the parade, as far as Carson was concerned.

be at a parade during nap time.

Grandpa Christian is reading Carson and
cousins, Tyler and Jayden a train story.

Nate and I are so patriotic! Can you see Josh's head in the
bottom center? Yes, he did that on purpose.

We had such a fun time at Grandma and Grandpa Christian's AND Grandma and Grandpa Reidhead's homes! We are so lucky to have both Grandparents close by! We are so excited for our next trip to visit them.
